About ParentLab
Hi 👋 I’m Carly, founder of ParentLab.
I became a mother in 2022 to Felix, and again in 2024 to Oliver. I always expected motherhood to re-shape me; I just didn’t know how. Parenthood is transcendent, boring, messy, exhausting, grounding, and majestic all at once.
It’s refreshingly un-self-centered…
…and yet, at times, I wonder if I’ve lost my own center.
Somewhere in the chaos of keeping small humans alive and learning and growing, I realized I wasn’t giving myself the same space to thrive.
That’s why I created ParentLab, a community learning space for curious parents in Copenhagen.
We design baby-friendly environments where parents can stay intellectually plugged in, creatively inspired, and socially connected, without having to step away from their babies.
Becoming a parent doesn’t mean pressing pause on who you are. But during barsel, it can be surprisingly hard to find spaces that nurture your own curiosity and identity. Most activities focus on baby entertainment or fitness, and too often, international parents face an extra barrier: everything is in Danish.
ParentLab exists to fill that gap.
We offer talks, workshops, and events that welcome both you and your baby. Our sessions are designed with flexibility in mind: open play spaces, comfortable feeding and settling areas, and a come-as-you-are atmosphere where babies’ noises and needs are expected, not an interruption.
💡 Our mission is simple:
to help parents keep their minds active, meet new people, and feel connected to themselves and each other.
Whether you’re on parental leave, transitioning back to work, or simply looking for a community of engaged international and Danish parents, ParentLab is a place to grow.
We collaborate with inspiring instructors — psychologists, artists, writers, musicians, coaches, and curious people from many fields — to offer a mix of experiences.
Who knows, maybe your conversations will go beyond how your baby is(n’t) sleeping.
Because when parents stay curious, confident, and connected, whole families thrive. And because your brain deserves a place to play, too.
Welcome to ParentLab.
For curious parents raising curious kids.

My first mother’s group was not what I’d hoped it would be - so I made my own!
